And the beat goes on

Look again. No that’s not an iPhone it’s the new iPod touch fresh out of Uncle Steve’s pocket. Just launched today the iPod touch is basically an iPhone without the phone. It’s got multi-touch, WiFi, Safari, YouTube, Coverflow, photos, video and even the new iTunes WiFi store. It’s going to come in two versions, 8GB at $299/€299 and 16GB at $399/€399 (so much for the weak dollar eh Apple?!) and will be shipping from the 28th September.
Sure 8GB and 16GB at those prices sounds a bit expensive but I’d imagine this is due to the high cost of flash drives right now. Just like the original iPod, the sizes will increase when the prices come down. Still 16GB isn’t too shabby. And lets be honest, if you have one of the new 160GB iPod classics are you ever going to need that much music on the go and in one place? Most probably not. I’d imagine having a smaller capacity iPod would make me listen to stuff I actually want to listen to and really like. Size aside, it’s going to be hard to resist this little baby. It’s completely gorgeous. I may just be purchasing one sometime soon.
What’s that sound in the distance though? Oh… it’s the Zune jumping off a cliff!
