iPod Video

iPod VideoUnfortunately, some time over the past weekend my trusty 4G iPod and I parted company. It’s a long story but basically she’s gone. She may some day return but I don’t hold much hope. The idea of walking to work sans tunes wasn’t a nice one. My new phone doesn’t have a radio so I spent my walk to work listening to the traffic while avoiding the people handing out free copies of Herald AM and Metro (they’re a little easier to avoid when wearing earphones, kinda like how chuggers are also easier to avoid when wearing earphones.) So anyway, on lunch from work I did a quick scoot about Grafton Street to see what current stock of iPods were in the shops. 4 shops ventured into and only the 3G store in Stephen’s Green had the iPod video in stock. I figured that since I was buying a new iPod the video was the only option. I did toy with the idea of a nano but the video won out in the end.

I ended up getting the black 30GB version and I have to say it is quite sexy indeed. Noticably thinner and lighter than my previous baby. The first thing I noticed about it was the quality of the display. My old iPod was monochrome and this was the first time I had really played with a colour screen version. It really displays photos, album art and videos beautifully. The extra screen real estate is an advantage too. I’m still playing with it all but so far I’m loving it.

I recently went from a 10GB white 1st generation iPod up to the 60GB black one. Like you the first thing I noticed was the difference having a colour screen makes. I’m really really happy with my new gadget!

Hey mister,
so sorry to read about the loss of the iPod. But congrats on the new sexy black one.
It does mean that I will have to upgrade now! Cannot be left behind after us having matching iPods for so long!

hey Anto! So, would you recommend the new iPod? Any drawbacks? I’m thinking of buying one… it’s so purdy!

Hey Stevie!

Would definitely recommend it. Only downside that I can think of is that converting video to iPod format can take a while (not a huge issue to be honest). Other than that, it’s great.
