Confessions

Confessions On a Dance FloorMy long wait came to an end this week with the release of Madonna’s new album Confessions On a Dance Floor and I have to say that I’m utterly in love with it! She promised us a pure dance album and she’s delivered the goods. There are samples from Abba (obviously), Donna Summer, Jackson 5 and some of her earlier stuff (Among others; Pappa Dont’ Preach is in the opening to Let It Will Be and Die Another Day is in the ending of Isaac) which blend with the tracks superbly.

There are rumours that there will be 5 singles released off this album. Apart from Hung up and Sorry (coming in December/January) my prediction for the other 3 would be: Jump, Push and there were rumours of I Love New York making it to the singles section. Of the whole album, I Love New York is the only one that has yet to grow on me. It’s currently the only track that I consider skipping over. I just haven’t warmed to it yet. However, the rest of the album more than makes up for it.

If you’re a Madonna fan and you don’t have this album already, get it today. You won’t be disappointed.

I just used my remaining itunes credit to download it today (thanking yourself and Keith very much). I opted for the continuos version too but it doesn’t seem that theydivided it up which is a pity. Migth just take a look at that link you posted or just learn the change-over points by heart…lol

Just been listening to it between lectures and I have to admit it’s damn damn good. I can see your point about I Love New York, alright but there’s always one song on an album you never like. It’s the fact that Madonna has released soemthing that has so many great songs on it that makes it really stand out. I had a look at dividing the album up using that download but my god you were right…..it looks horendously complicated. But a major plus is that listening to the album as a whole is actually very enjoyable.

It is a pity that there are no chapters in the continous version. Although I found that setting it to remember playback position (Apple+I > Options) works quite well. It won’t start from the beginning of the track everytime you select it. Quite handy and you can turn it off if you get sick of it, unlike chapters!

Anyway, glad you’re enjoying it! Viva Madge!
